PRAISE THE LORD, ALL YOU NATIONS!

EXALT HIM, ALL YOU PEOPLES! LET’S SING AND MAKE MUSIC FROM THE HEART. PRAISE HIS NAME IN THE DANCE AND THROUGH ART! HALLELUJAH!

January 2026

We LOVE worship! We've seen God move in amazing ways in our schools here in Paisley. We long to see the restoring movement of the Spirit flow from our House of Worship into the rest of Scotland and further into the nations. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom and He makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.

The School of Worship (SOW) imparts foundational values and principles to those intending to serve in worship among the nations.

We want to raise up trainees in three different areas: Heart, Mind, and Hands. We will examine the heart’s motivation to worship, study and receive understanding about where worship comes from in the Word, and employ practical application of learning instruments and different methods of leading worship.

The SOW is not only for musicians! We are looking for dancers, evangelists, singer-songwriters, DJs, videographers, creative artists, sound engineers, and anyone else who desires to be trained in worship and is called to help others worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth.

Topics Covered in the School of Worship:

  • Character and Lifestyle of a WORSHIPER

  • Knowing God in Worship

  • Intimacy With God

  • Understanding the Work of the Holy Spirit in Worship

  • Percussions and Voices from the Nations

  • Cross Cultural and Interdenominational Worship

  • Reimagining Worship; Theology, Songs and Paintings

  • Biblical and Historical Foundations for Worship

  • Servant Leadership and Teamwork

  • Worship and Intercession, Prophetic Ministry, Spiritual Warfare

  • Songwriting, Recording and Musicianship

  • Dance, Banners & Movement in Worship

  • Celtic Saints, Scottish Worship and Creation Care

What makes our Paisley SOW special?

We facilitate worship-leading as a team, musical skill development workshops, dance classes, worship in the creative arts, pottery and of course lots of songwriting and song cafés. We also do an Inductive Bible study of the Psalms, reading and book discussions, weekly journals, small groups, intercession, worship leading at Burn 24/7 , Spiritual Busking, Arts Collectives  and Open Mics, Celtic Daily Prayers , Scottish Cèilidh dances, David's Tent festival, a hiking retreat at the Isle of Arran and much more!

Our main goals in this school are to:

  • Train, Equip and Develop those who are involved in worship ministry to be the most effective they can be in their areas of influence.

  • Help give a Biblical understanding of what worship is.

  • Provide a place to go deeper with God; to ignite and fan into flame our passion for Jesus.

  • Help trainees to live a fully integrated life that reflects Jesus in every way. The person they are on stage or whatever area they are involved in needs to be consistent with the person they are in everyday life.

  • Create a culture of creativity where trainees feel free to express their love for God in many different ways. Let’s worship together with what we do! We want to help them discover their creative side and learn to use it for God’s glory

The SOW is a three-month course with a two-month outreach. It is a second level school that is part of the Faculty of Christian Ministries with YWAM’s University of the Nations. If you would like to receive UofN credits for this course, you must have successfully completed a DTS prior to this school.

Visa Info

The visa laws regularly change in the UK so when coming for a SOW, it is very important that you DO NOT book any kind of travel (air ticket, etc) until you have heard from us regarding your situation.

Many countries may not require a visa, but that doesn’t apply to all countries, so be aware your specific process may be unique.

More details can be found in the application info pack.

OUTREACH PHASE

DECLARE HIS GLORY AMONG THE NATIONS

The heart of the School of Worship is to raise up worshippers who serve the nations, have the heart and mind of a disciple, a passionate love for God, and live a life of radical obedience.

We believe that whole-hearted worship plays a vital role in building God’s Kingdom. Participants will apply the teaching from lecture phase as they spread light in strategic locations through worship, intercession, prophetic declaration and creative evangelism. This is an opportunity for trainees to grow in their gifts as they serve in worship ministry in multiple settings, practice teamwork and give workshops to multiply and equip others in what they have learned.

This can look different depending on the locations and what is available to us. We try to be actively involved in various ministries to give the trainees a broad experience of worship ministry in missions. We will serve in areas of need in the community and evangelise through street outreaches and personal relationships. In recent outreaches, we have lead worship at kids clubs, youth festivals and events as a tool to preach the Gospel. We also set up teaching opportunities to meet the needs of local churches and other YWAM locations. We do this so that our trainees can learn to communicate their heart for worship.

Through cross-cultural experiences and new environments, that draw you out of your comfort zone, outreach provides an amazing opportunity for you to draw closer to each other and God. This life-giving time will be a safe place for you to be changed by our God, who is always seeking to define our character and grow our heart for others!
