One heart, many passions.

We serve God by bringing His light, hope and love to the city and people of Paisley.

We're a community, a family of many backgrounds and dreams, finding ourselves at home in a variety of places. It could be among friends or strangers, walking city streets or exploring Creation. At times we may learn or teach, pioneer new beginnings or faithfully tend the familiar.

Yet no matter how diverse we are, each of us is called here by God and we are united in worship, prayer, relationships and creative expressions. We live out our prayers and pray each step of our lives, emulating the Celtic saints of centuries past.

But above all we want to make God known. He's invited us to be a part of His story and we do that by sharing the love of the Father, the deliverance of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit from Paisley outward to the rest of the world.

There are two main areas where we feel called to dwell as a team:

 

ARTS & CREATIVITY

Our God is THE Creator, and we are made in His image, so we feel the need to be creative in all that we do. Many members of our team are creatives and have backgrounds in various artistic expressions: fine arts, graphics and media, film, audio production, and more. No matter the form our creativity takes, no matter our favourite medium, God is both the source of our abilities and the reason we do it.

WORSHIP

Worship is an incredibly important part of any human-God relationship. If we love Him, how can we not offer praise to Him? As a team we spend time in communal worship, basking in God’s presence as we exalt Him for who He is. Whether we’re lead by one of our musical team members or simply sing along to recordings, we believe in the power and purpose of worship.

THE FUTURE

We throw around words like ‘growth’ and ‘pioneering,’ and we do that on purpose. We want to expand our team and bring new ministries to Paisley every year! We could start an additional DTS or secondary school, or maybe we’ll multiply and plant an entire team somewhere else in Scotland. What does tomorrow hold?

TRAINING

INWARD

If we are to truly ‘make God known,’ then we have to know Him, learn about Him, grow in Him, discover Him anew every day. We want to be His followers, Christ-imitators, and we want to discover who He created us to be through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that God transforms lives, and we want to live free of stagnation and apathy. From person-to-person encouragement to our Discipleship Training Schools, we equip each other with the spiritual and the practical tools to fulfil our God-given purpose and calling.

And this side of Eternity? We understand that we’re never complete, we’ve never ‘arrived.’ We’re always ready for more of what God is doing in us.

EVANGELISM

OUTWARD

Burning inside of all of us is this incredible need to be in relationship with God. With Jesus’ arrival, death and resurrection came the tearing of the curtain between God and Man, allowing us to be cleansed and adopted directly into the Family. As a team our highest priority is to bring this message to all of Creation, starting with Paisley and spreading to the Nations.

Jesus Himself commanded His followers to share His story to the ends of the Earth, and that’s exactly what we’re seeking here in our town. It may be through a relationship built over several years or through a single, momentary interaction, but we carry God’s heart for people of Paisley in every encounter.

Scotland also provides a unique location for reaching out to people from around the globe. Here you can find immigrants, tourists, travellers and pilgrims ready to experience a Divine interaction.

MINISTRY

UPWARD

This is the expression of our position as intercessors between a world of needs and a merciful Father. Every smile, every helping hand, every need met is an outpouring of His generous love. Every ministry that we operate on our own or in partnership is meant to bring people and places closer to God.

Our understanding of God is that He cares about every aspect of our lives. There is no dividing line between sacred / secular where His authority or consideration ends. And so we believe this is our mission as well, to love people in body, soul and spirit, to meet needs wherever there is lack.

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

Youth With A Mission Scotland Limited, or YWAM Scotland, is a family of Christians dedicated to knowing God and making Him known in Scotland and wherever we find ourselves in the world. We are relationally linked with YWAM International and our ministry is informed by YWAM’s foundational values.
